Be prepared for the surprise of your life (the just passed few minutes of it at least) when you read the HUGE little secrets on this page. Did you know about them before? No, because they were a secret. Only this page knew about them, even before GT4 itself did. Thats how stupidly secret these secret secrets are.

Listed on this page are all the secret or hidden things you may not know about GT4, as well as some you're probably well aware of. Naturally, the GTSC has provided bonus secrets to each secret, but i'm keeping them a secret until you read each proper secret secretively.

OIL CHANGE HP INCREASE

When you buy or win a new car, take it for an oil change. After the oil change, your cars' horsepower will increase either a lot or a little.
If it doesn't do anything, then you've already changed it!

OR

It has never been revealed what HP actually stands for. Hewlet Packard increase? High Potency increase? Hit Point increase? Heaps Please increase? Horseradish Pottle increase? Happy Points increase? Honda Pontiac increase? Happy Puppy increase? WHAT DOES IT MEAN??? And why would you want to increase it? Does it not meet your needs? Whats so wrong with decreasing? Why are you being so sizeist? So many questions! So little answers! And so big answers too!

HIDDEN BLACK RACE CARS

On days 694-700 in the used car lots you can buy special black versions of:
1. Toyota GT One Race Car
2. Mazda 787B
3. Nissan R390 GT1 Race Car
4. Nissan R92CP Race Car
If you miss them then they will appear again in the next 694-700 days. To buy them all it comes to about 9,000,000 cr. so get saving!

In the interests of being car colour racism free, unlike the secret feature above, you can also get the cars in blue, red, rainbow, yellow with pokla dots, blurple, oranellow, redack, browite and clear. Clear isn't invisible, because if there was an invisible option i would have said there was an invisible option, but i didn't say there was an invisible option because there isn't an invisible option. Clearly.

LICENCE GUIDES

To get a Blue (acceleration) and Red (brakes) Licence Test Guide simply push R3 during 3,2,1,Start (or any time during the test). It shows you the best route to go and where to start braking. This only works on the B and A license tests and tests where there is no pace car.

A licence guide will guide you on your quest to get a licence to licence guides so that others who want a licence guide can get guided into getting a licence by your licensual guidabilities that you got from the Licencitbilitational Guiderism course you completed after getting your licence.

SPEED UP REPLAYS

To speed up your replays press down L3 and suddenly your cars are quicker than Superman!

Do you find that replays seem to take the same amount of time as you spent racing? Do you fancy sitting through that 24h enduro for another 24h watching the race you just competed in? Yes? YES!? You're mad! What about food/blinking/toilet breaks? Oh, you get your food delivered to you lap. Makes sense. You don't blink? Oh, yeah eye drops could work i suppose. What about the toilet breaks though? !!!!! Uh... i .... yeah .... i wish i hadn't asked that now to be honest, and wished even more that you didn't just tell me. Thats gonna be stuck in my memory bank for longer than i care for. :/ I mean really, who plays videogames while on the toilet?

STAY IN SAME GEAR WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION

When using the automatic transmission option, hold R2 to make your car remain in the same gear. This is great for remaining at a given speed through a corner or stretching the top end of a gear for a little extra speed/performance.

GT MODE MAIN SCREEN SHORTCUTS

Pressing R1 makes the cursor go to your manufacturer's country (if in a car) and when you press L1 it will stick the cursor on Home.

If you like taking the quick way as opposed to the way that isn't as quick as the quick way, lets call it the 'slower' way, then this 'secret' will be very beneficial to you because... well it just will okay? I can't be boffed explaining it, so gave you the short description. Just like in GT mode, if you want to get somewhere quicker, then its done. Simple. Easy. Quick. Not long. Short. Frying pan - Pan. Samantha -Sam. Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious - Super. Dot - .

LICENCE TEST/FREE RUN

Pressing up on the d-pad toggles the ghost car on and off.

OR

To run without having to pay for the pleasure (if running pleases you?), you must first complete a licence test. It will involve such things like testing to check you use correct/accurate (and consistant) strides of equal measurement. Making sure that you don't drop below the minimum running speed into a jog, or the maximum into a sprint. And of course thorough testing of all your credit cards and bank accounts, to make sure that you aren't paying for the free running. We'll happily look after your money for you, it'll be safe...

ZOOM IN ON YOUR CAR IN REPLAYS

Press the Triangle button and the camera will zoom into your car - doesn't work with all camera angles though.

OR

You, the camera operator, races over at near warp speed to your car, and your car will get such a fright by your rapid appearance that it'll swerve into that pile of tin cans you just made a Eiffel Tower replica of. Are you really sure you want to rebuilt that again? If so, by all means feel free to zoom in as much as you want, you obviously enjoy building stuff.

QUICKER CREDITS

The X button speeds up the credits at the end of the race - experiment with it a bit so you know how exactly it works.

OR

The credits screen after the ending movie goes way quicker. You know, like that TV show you saw the other week where the credits went almost too fast to read. And then if maybe you press some more buttons on the controller the credits will go even faster, like the other show you saw where you literally couldn't read a single thing because they were just going so ridicuously fast that you wondered why they even bothered showing them. That fast.

BLOW UP HP/TORQUE GRAPH

In the car settings screen press the start button and will enlarge the engine hp/torque graph in the corner. Press start again to go back to the regular screen. Alternatively you can move your cursor onto the graph and hit X or start buttons.

OR

Every single horsepower your car has will blow up while you're talking about graphs, or graphics. Or graphite. Or graffiti. Or grains. Or germs. Or gems. Or other g words.
